ABOUT US

Josh grew up learning and loving the art of quality dog work.  While on quail hunting adventures with his father, uncle, and grandfather, he learned how to work with bird dogs.  At a young age he felt he had a gift for making bird dogs do what they were taught, to be a gentleman’s bird dog. When working with dogs with his Uncle Rick at a very young age, he already knew that this would be his life's work.
 
After meeting his wife Lyndsay, Josh decided to move to Elwood, Nebraska and begin developing his training facility.  At this time he met avid waterfowl hunter Chris Lynch, Lyndsay’s brother.  Chris and Josh began hunting pheasant, quail and prairie chickens together.  Chris was impressed with Josh's pointers and how well they worked for Josh.   This was the beginning of Quail Canyon Kennels.

Josh and Chris have earned the trust of many farmers in the area and have unlimited access to training grounds and a wild bird population both playing a very important role in making a gentleman’s bird dog. 

While purchasing direct puppies out of Honky Tonk Attitude Josh became friends with professional trainer Scott Miller.  Josh and Scott work together at summer camp in northwest Nebraska.
